The Eastern Cape Department of Transport has said that the number of people who died following a horrific bus crash in the province has risen from 28 to 30.
The accident happened on Monday afternoon on the N2 near the Kei Cuttings.
The process of identifying the people who died as a result of the accident was expected to get underway on Tuesday.
The province’s MEC for transport, Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe, was on Tuesday at the scene of the accident.
The department stated on Tuesday morning that initially 20 women, five men and three minors had died as result of the accident before the number rose to 30 by Tuesday afternoon.
The department has said that the cause of the accident and whether the bus was roadworthy will be probed.
