Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter dragged following Amakhosi’s draw against TS Galaxy

Kaizer Chiefs’ head coach Stuart Baxter was dragged on Sunday following Amakhosi’s goalless draw against TS Galaxy in the two clubs opening game for the 2021/22 PSL.

Chiefs and TS Galaxy shared a point each following their Sunday encounter at Mbombela stadium, which drew the ire of Amakhosi fans on social media, with #Baxter trending on Twitter by the evening.

Some users mocked the fans of the ‘Glamour Boys’, who were not pleased with their team’s performance on Sunday.

While other users commented that Chiefs performed better during Ernst Middendorp’s time as head coach.

Middendorp was sacked as the club’s head coach in September 2020 and was eventually replaced by Gavin Hunt.

One user was of the view that Arthur Zwane, who was Chiefs’ interim coach following Hunt’s exit after a poor performance last season, and before Baxter’s appointment, was a better coach than the incumbent.

The defending champions of the league, Mamelodi Sundowns, were said to have no competition this season, one user commented, while another criticized Baxter’s decision making on a substitution during the game.

Meanwhile, Moroka Swallows, the Dube Birds, soared to victory with a goal scored by Mbulelo Wambi in the 93rd minute in their Sunday clash against Real Kings, gaining the maximum three points.

On Wednesday, Chiefs will face Baroka FC, while Swallows will go up against Amazulu, last season’s runners up.
