Kaizer Chiefs announced on Wednesday that it has suspended its 26-year-old player Dumsani Zuma who was arrested recently reportedly for driving under the influence of alcohol.
It was reported by the City Press that Zuma was arrested last Wednesday at a police roadblock in Sandton, Gauteng.
The PSL club said it was “disappointed to learn” of Zuma’s alleged conduct and has “taken the decision to immediately suspend him from all club activities pending an internal disciplinary hearing”.
The club said Zuma’s “suspension is in the interest of all parties and does not in itself carry any inference of guilt or pre-judgement”.
Kaizer Chiefs said it will ensure that Zuma’s matter is resolved speedily.
