This alleged kidnapping comes a few days after the four Moti brothers who were abducted in Limpopo in October, were reunited with their family.

In a statement on Thursday, the SAPS confirmed that Zidan, Zayyad, Alaan and Zia Moti, all aged between 6 and15 years old, were reunited with their family on Wednesday night.

The brothers were on their way to school in Polokwane at approximately 7am on Wednesday, 20 October 2021, when they were taken at gunpoint by their abductors. A group of men with rifles and handguns cornered their vehicle and forcefully removed them.

Meanwhile, in a separate matter, three suspects aged between 19 and 23 are expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrates’ Court in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, on Friday for kidnapping and extortion.
KwaZulu-Natal SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbele said the three suspects allegedly kidnapped a 25-year-old woman on 9 November 2021 who had gone to Marianhill, Durban, to meet up with another woman who had promised her domestic work.
“Whilst she was at a petrol station she received further information to walk towards Marianhill railway to meet a man who would take her to the place of work.
“As the victim was walking towards the railway an unknown man approached her and said he had been sent to pick her up and take her to her new job but he demanded R20 000 from her first.
“The victim made a phone call to her parents in the Ingwavuma area who were able to send an amount of R700 and it was deposited into the victim’s bank account.
“The suspect allegedly took the bank card from the victim, withdrew the money and told the victim to leave,” Mbele said.
Mbele said the 25-year-old woman reported the matter to the police in Ingwavuma in the north of KwaZulu-Natal and the matter was transferred to the Marianhill police station.
“Pinetown police received information about the wanted suspects being in the Pinetown area. They proceeded to Park Lane where they spotted the three friends who fitted the description of the kidnappers. They were then arrested and charged for kidnapping and extortion,” Mbele said.
