Former president Jacob Zuma has added his voice to rally behind the governing African National Congress (ANC), urging the electorate to vote for the party at the upcoming local government elections on 1 November 2021.
In a video clip shared by the former president’s foundation on Twitter, Zuma said he felt it necessary to express his disapproval at concerning comments made by some members of the public that they will not vote due to certain reasons.
Zuma asked South Africans who have said that they will not vote to rather head to the polls come 1 November and vote for the liberation movement, the ANC because doing so is important.
Zuma added that though there a certain issues that are not to his satisfaction he will also vote.
A failure to vote could result in the shock of people no longer having a voice within government structures and without the power to change people’s lives, Zuma explained.
“I am saying rethink your decision and go vote,” the former president said in closing.
